POSITION:   ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN

GRADE:        GRADE + PRODUCTION BONUS

 

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Environmental Technician will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and Federal environmental regulations via daily mechanical and electrical maintenance of baghouses, water treatment systems, and associated equipment; loading of hazardous waste; cleanup and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and spills; detailed housekeeping, including preventative maintenance; emergency response activities for spills or other environmental releases; inspections of pollution control equipment and facility operations; environmental department activities and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Safe work record and commitment to environmental compliance
  2. Proven self-starter with demonstrated mechanical or electrical aptitude and understanding of environmental systems

PREFERENCES:

  1. Experience in related industry: Water systems operations, water chemistry analysis, baghouse/emissions control operations, CEMS, pollution control equipment, mechanical maintenance (emphasis on pumps and valves), and electrical troubleshooting
  2. Extensive knowledge and experience in electrical distribution
  3. VFD, AC motors, and motor control experience
  4. PLC system building, programming, and troubleshooting experience
  5. Experience in software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Computer Maintenance Management Systems, and Wonderware
  6. Training in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, Method 9 smoke reading and other aspects of environmental compliance
