BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for developing and implementing best practices and establishing plans for continuous improvement within the department and division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the HR department including, but not limited to, employment, recruitment and selection, legal/compliance, policy administration, payroll/benefits administration, corporate and government reporting, training administration, and HRIS support. This position will need to be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, or related field
  • No relatives employed at Nucor Steel Sedalia division (Nucor Corporation Policy No 21 B 3)



  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, commercial excellence, quality, and profitability
  • Knowledge of employment benefit laws and common HR practices
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail with focus on accuracy
  • Punctual, self-starter, and self-motivated work ethic with a passion that is contagious
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, optimistic, and full of energy and enthusiasm
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal – must be able to effectively communicate via telephone and in person with customers, suppliers, visitors, and teammates
  • Willingness to set high expectations and commitment to achieving them



  • 2 years of HR related work experience
  • Payroll and human resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental federal and state employment laws
  • Training and presentation experience
