Division:  Nucor Steel Texas

Nucor Steelmaking Group (SMG) Services, which provides technical support for the steelmaking divisions of Nucor Corporation, is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Human Resources Administrator.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:  The Human Resources Administrator will be a single point of contact regarding all HR related activities in the Irving Office, as well as, serve as a liaison between the SMG NextGen team and Nucor Steel Texas HR Team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with the recruitment, selection and hiring processes; performing onboarding and offboarding activities; conducting new hire orientation and annual open enrollment; assisting teammates with payroll and benefit related questions (401k, Health, FMLA, LTD, and Life Insurance); maintaining HR data and filing systems as well as the integrity of HR and payroll data; processing quarterly travel stipend; coordinating training and other initiatives; and working on Team projects as needed. Some overnight travel is required.

This position requires superior customer service to support and drive Nucor’s vision of taking care of the customers. The individual will build strong relationships leveraging Nucor’s resources to best take care of our customers.

This is a fulltime, permanent position with the SMG Services Team based in Irving, TX. Relocation to the Dallas area is required.

Job Requirements


  1. Two years of human resource administration experience or Associates Degree in business or accounting
  2. Experience using spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications


  1. Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, Accounting or related field
  2. Payroll and/or HRIS systems experience
  3. PHR or SHRM-CP certification
