Job Description

Division:  Nucor Grating Wexford (PA)



  • Responsible for selling steel grating products through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Cold-call prospects and identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process.
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
  • Collaborate with Sales Supervisor and Account Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches and deliver opportunities to Account Managers where appropriate.
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects and overcome objections of prospective customers.
  • Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients.
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.


  • Input of all assigned fabrication projects and/or accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Input all sold fabricated orders into NG’s ERP software.
  • Communicating when all new fabrication orders have been input to both the Project Manager and Sales Person.
  • Completion of a price/scope check on every project prior to submitting a Pick Ticket to the fabrication facilities.

Job Requirements



  • 3 years of direct work experience in industrial sales, grating preferred.
  • Experience with steel and steel related products.


  • University or college degree preferred.
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
  • Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  • Able to read structural drawings.
  • A positive and supportive recommendation from current supervisor and/or manager.
