Division:  Nucor Steel Kingman, LLC

The Process Metallurgist is responsible for providing leadership for the Quality Assurance department and for developing an effective strategy incorporating all departments to achieve the quality goals of the division through a team-oriented approach. Acting as a technical resource, this position will be directly involved in new product development, evaluating and resolving customer claims, review of product inquiries, failure analysis, coordinating continous improvement projects, and support for the sales and production teams. The Process Metallurgist is a strong safety advocate and will find ways to inspire participation in the safety program by Q/A teammates, and add value to the safety culture of the division. This position is a main point of contact for customers, providing technical support, seeking new business opportunities, and conducting educational programs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting Nucor’s safety culture.
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, cost oriented, organized and analytical
  • Proven ability of achieving interdepartmental goals through effective teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skill, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand the needs of Nucor’s customers and the value of cultivating win-win relationships.
  • Adaptable problem solving skills with a strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to the growth and development of supervised teammates.
  • Solid knowledge of the steel business and commitment to profitability.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to the success of Nucor Kingman
  • At least 2 years of experience in a steel manufacturing environment (Rod and Wire preferred).
