Division:  Republic - Louisville

Republic Conduit - Louisville is seeking applicants for the position of Safety Engineer.  Potential candidates must have a positive recommendation from their Supervisor, Department Manager, and General Manager (if applicable) as well as the following basic qualifications:

 

  • Has a passion for safety and puts the safety of individuals and the team above all other priorities;
  • Genuinely cares about people and willing to make personal sacrifices for the betterment of the team
  • A leader because others say so not because of the title
  • Able to say “no” when it’s not the popular position to take;
  • Listens better than they talk with excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Implementation of loss prevention, establish safety policies, monitor OSHA compliance and make recommendations for safety practices and improvements.
  • Working with state and federal safety regulations to ensure compliance
  • Maintaining the safety management system, assisting with the development of safe job analysis/procedures, along with auditing safety performance and supporting opportunities to improve. 
  • Identifying training needs and delivering training
  • Involve the teammates in the execution of progressive Safety Culture and continue to improve within the division

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within an Industrial setting 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team and willing to travel on short notice

 PREFERENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or related experience.
  • Experience working with federal/state safety regulations and laws
  • At least two years of experience working in an industrial environment applying safety policies and development of safety and loss prevention programs.
  • Experience with safety management systems and / or OSHA VPP
  • Knowledge of Safety, Quality or Environmental Management Systems. Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, IBIH and other regulatory standards, protocols and compliance in order to create policies and procedures.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
